Brussels metro reopens as police continue to hunt shooting suspects

The Brussels metro faced major disruptions Wednesday morning after a shooting near Clemenceau station in Anderlecht around 6 a.m., triggering a police manhunt.

The Brussels prosecutor’s office said no arrests had been made and there was “no indication of a terrorist motive.” Law enforcement initially suspected the suspects were in metro tunnels, leading to several station closures.

The metro, which was shut down for much of the morning, resumed service in the early afternoon. There were no reported victims.
