Construction works cited as reason to block ‘nationalist march’ in Warsaw

Warsaw mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has banned a major nationalist march on 1 May, saying there will be construction work taking place at the proposed venue so it can’t accommodate the proposed 10,000 participants.

The organisers (Konfederacja, Młodzież Wszechpolska and Marsz Niepodległości) will appeal the decision in court and have appealed to their supporters to mobilise in even greater numbers on the day.
