Malta Today reveals plans for new roads in the Paceville area, widening the thoroughfares between Coast Road and Pembroke and developing a connection to the St George’s Bay tunnel. The paper suggests the plans will cater for traffic created by new high-rises in the area.
The Malta Independent leads with the publication of the pre-budget document by Finance Minister Edward Scicluna. The 2020 budget, to be presented in mid-October, will give priority to healthcare and the elderly.

Malta Today reports that Malta has refused a request by a rescue ship carrying 100 migrants to enter its ports or to receive water and food supplies. The government argued that the rescue took place in the Libyan search and rescue area.
The Times says that the Office of the Prime Minister refused to share details of government official Neville Gafa’s employment contract. The paper was told that Gafa’ does not occupy a senior enough position for the information to be published.

L-Orizzont says that Air Malta is suing the pilots’ union for damages incurred by industrial actions in July. The company argues that the actions were illegal and in breach of the collective agreement.
