MaltaToday reports that Malta has closed its airspace to the Boeing 737 MAX amid safety concerns about the aircraft, following two fatal crashes within five months.
The Malta Independent says that the European Parliament has voted strongly in favour of a resolution demanding the EU to act against security threats from Chinese IT infrastructure installed in Europe. The resolution raises concerns about the effects of Chinese state laws on cybersecurity within the EU.
The Times reveals that an early retirement scheme for senior officials at the Malta Financial Services Authority is expected to reach €1.2 million. The paper says the authority is seeking to create new vacancies in its top positions and that top officials are not given much option to remain.
