Corporate Dispatch Saturday Newspaper Review

Good morning

These are the main stories from today’s newspapers in Malta.

L-Orizzont has another story related to equal pay for equal work. In its story, the newspaper reports about people working with a contractor, to provide clerical work, and who are receiving €1,578, less in payment for equal work done by others.

The Malta Independent reports that ‘reported crime statistics for 2018 show that reports have decreased to 34 crimes per 1,000 persons, in relation to the 42 crimes per 1,000  reported in 2017’. The story is also reported on L-Orizzont. The Times take a different approach, by focusing specifically on domestic violence reports, which experienced a spike in Cottonera, Floriana, Għaxaq and Pembroke.

In another story, the Malta Independent reports that an enforcement notice issued by the Planning Authority directly contradicts a statement issued by the same authority which has said that there was no evidence of Turkish construction workers sleeping in a quarry in Mqabba.

In a photo story, the Malta Independent refers to a drug raid which took place in Qormi. The same style is adopted by The Times.

In-Nazzjon reports about two political activities organised by the Nationalist Party, namely a walk-about in Valletta by the Party Leader and the second session of the General Council of the Nationalist Party.

The Times reports that clients of Bank of Valletta are up in arms as payments to third parties remain unavailable over a week after the cyberattack that saw hackers make away with €13 million.
