These are the main stories from Malta’s newspapers.

The aftermath of the storm which hit the Maltese islands last weekend is covered prominently in a number of papers’ front pages today.

The Malta Independent reports that the Civil Protection Department received over 500 emergency calls since Sunday morning. In-Nazzjon reports that the Nationalist Party is seeking ways how to mitigate the damages after the weekend’s storm. The Times reports that the trail of destruction of Sunday’s storm is likely to cost several millions of euros, according to insurance industry sources. In-Nazzjon reports that the Nationalist Party wants that the recommendations of the Venice Commission are implemented with immediate effect.
