The Portuguese press reported that Ms Dolores Aveiro had “reacted very well” to first treatment and was “stable and conscious”.

The mother of the phenomenon, 65, is in Doctor Nélio Mendonça hospital, in Funchal, where, says the Jornal de Madeira, “she underwent an operation, which took place in a very positive way”. “The next few hours – adds the newspaper – will be essential to assess Ms. Aveiro’s physical condition”.
