Watch the moment a Cruise liner looses control and hits tourist boat in Venice

A cruise liner early Sunday morning lost control and smashed into tourist boat, the Michelangelo, as it was docking in Venice, Italy.

In the incident at least five people were injured. Initial reports indicate that the MSC Opera developed some mechanical failure while docking in  the Giudecca canal.

 

 

It is reported that the hull of the ship has been damaged as it slammed into the dock before hitting the Michelangelo, but it is not currently known to what extent.

The MSC Opera, built in 2004, the 275m long liner has a capacity of 2,679 passengers.
