Cruise passenger fees in Greece set to rise

Reports in the Greek media indicate that cruise ship passenger fees will increase from July 1.

The fee will be imposed per passenger and per port and its amount will vary depending on the time period.

For Mykonos and Santorini during the peak tourism season, it will be set at 20 euros.

According to information, the competent ministries are about to sign in the next few days the relevant decisions for the measure, which aims on the one hand to decongest saturated cruise destinations, such as the two aforementioned Cycladic islands, and on the other to increase resources from the activity to finance infrastructure projects in the ports involved and tourism.Unmute
