Cypriots had a different Easter experience this year, with restrictive measures preventing them from going to church or attending big family gatherings.
“The inability to attend church should make people’s faith stronger and prayers more intense so that the coronavirus will soon pass and congregations can come together again,” Cyprus’ Archbishop Chrysostomos said in his Easter message on Sunday.
People sang hymns from their homes and yards holding lit candles.
