As the virus continues to spread across the country, schools are closing their doors in an effort to protect their students.

The new measures will close schools and universities, but not kindergartens, from Wednesday. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš did not exclude additional emergency measures adding “It is necessary to take active, exceptional measures at the start of an epidemic,”.

The Ministry of Health confirmed two new coronavirus disease cases on Tuesday, which brings the total number of those infected to 40.
