Danske Bank whistleblower lashes out at UK’s role in facilitating corporate corruption

The British whistleblower who exposed the €200bn money laundering scandal at Danske Bank has lashed out at the UK for its role in facilitating corporate corruption.

The Financial Times reports that Howard Wilkinson, a former Danske executive in Estonia who sounded the alarm on the alleged money laundering, told a public hearing at the European Parliament that the “worst of all” among combating corruption was the UK.

“The role of the UK is an absolute disgrace. Limited liability partnerships and Scottish liability partnerships have been abused for absolutely years,” he added.
