Ing. Philip Micallef has over thirty years experience in middle and senior management roles in both the public and private sectors in Malta, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain and Bermuda. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering B.Sc(Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering specialising in telecommunications from the University of Malta. Also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Between 1999 and 2002 served as non executive Director on the Board of Directors of Maltacom, the largest telecommunications company in Malta at the time. He was appointed from 2006 to 2009 member of the Council of the University of Malta, a body equivalent to a board of directors.

Dr. Ylenia Micallef Grimaud graduated as a lawyer in 2005 and holds a Masters in Law in European and Comparative Law awarded in 2012 from the University of Malta. In 2007 until 2009 she worked as a lawyer with the European Commission’s Legal Service after having held the same position between 2005 and 2007 in the European Parliament’s Tabling Office. On her return to Malta in 2010, she joined MSV Life plc’s legal and compliance unit and later was promoted to the post of Senior Manager in the CEO’s Office. During this period Ylenia was also visiting lecturer in European Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Malta. She also held the post of Policy Officer at the European Commission’s DG Justice for a brief period. She currently lives in Belgium with her family.

Fleur Vella read a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Economics and a Master in Business Administration at the University of Malta. She started her career with the Government of Malta carrying out research related to Malta’s pre-accession negotiation position. During this time Ms Vella also started lecturing at the University of Malta as a visiting lecturer. Following Malta’s entry into the European Union, Ms Vella was part of a team working on Malta’s EU budget 2007-2013 negotiations.
This process determined the amount of funds Malta received during the period in question. In 2006 Ms Vella joined the private sector and since is running a small business enterprise. Throughout the past years she has grown aware of the challenges that micro and small business enterprises encounter in a very competitive set-up. Ms Vella is a spokeswomen in support of micro and small business units. She provides input towards macroeconomic policies required to improve the operations of this economic sector.

Lawrence Zammit is a Founding Partner and a Director of MISCO. At MISCO he acts as a consultant to a number of business organisations across a range of economic sectors. He has developed the market research division of the organisation and has directed a number of local and foreign research assignments. Such research projects included social surveys, consumer surveys and business-to-business research.
He also conducts MISCO Training programmes on a regular basis on management and marketing topics, such as leadership, communication, team building, marketing research and marketing communications. His training experience includes both public sector organisations as well as private sector companies, at senior, middle and junior management levels. He also has direct hands on experience in leading organisations, serving and having served on the Board of Directors of a number of Companies and Corporations. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlas Insurance PCC Limited and Grand Harbour Marina plc and a member of the board of directors of Marine Finance plc, Loqus Holdings plc and PG plc. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Malta Enterprise, the Employment and Training Corporation, Air Malta plc and Malta International Airport plc.
Lawrence is a member of the European Society of Opinion and Marketing Research. He is a regular contributor to the Times of Malta.

Matthew Bugeja – read for his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Malta. He has worked in both the private and public sectors in personal and public finance, whilst lecturing on a biennial basis at the University of Malta’s Department of International Relations as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer. He has had several publications in recent years, with several books published, along with interviews and opinion pieces featured by companies such as Dun & Bradstreet, the Times of Malta and MaltaToday.

Tonio Galea studied International Relations at the University of Malta and terrorism studies with the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He has worked in the local media both print and tv for the past 30 years specialising in international news.
