Deadpool to Die in Marvel Universe This September

In a surprising turn of events, Marvel announced that the beloved anti-hero Deadpool will meet his demise this September.

Despite his upcoming major motion picture debut next month, Deadpool will face his end in the Marvel Universe. However, given Deadpool’s history, including a storyline literally titled “Dead,” fans know there might be more to this story than meets the eye. For now, Marvel is preparing readers for a bold new chapter in Deadpool comic book history.

This significant event will unfold in Deadpool #6, the final issue of the first story arc by Cody Ziglar and Rogê Antônio. The issue will feature a striking cover by Taurin Clarke, showcasing a villain’s hands ominously piercing Deadpool’s chest. The teaser for Deadpool #6 reads, “This is the first issue of a new era and killing Deadpool NOW would be an INSANE thing to do. Which is exactly why we’re doing it.”

The new villain introduced in this arc, Death Grip, has been dedicated to killing the “unkillable” Deadpool, and it seems he might be succeeding. In its press release, Marvel stated, “Cody Ziglar and Rogê Antônio’s DEADPOOL run reaches a startling turning point this September with the death of Wade Wilson! Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for an announcement about an all-new era of the series kicking off in DEADPOOL #6.”

As the storyline begins in Deadpool #6, the exact implications of Wade Wilson’s “death” remain a mystery. Marvel promises to reveal more specifics about the story in the near future, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what’s next for Deadpool.
