Italian Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio on Tuesday denied a media report saying that he had called for Economy Minister Giovanni Tria to resign, though he said the minister must find the resources to increase welfare spending next year.
“Nobody has asked for the resignation of Minister Tria but I demand that the Minister of Economy of a government of change find the money for Italians who are currently in great difficulty. They can no longer wait, the state can no longer leave them alone, and a serious minister must find the money.”
