Disney has released a brand new trailer for the Dumbo remake, which is set to be released in the US in March 2019.
The first trailer, which debuted on YouTube in June this year, outlined how the new film would be similar to the original version, released in 1941.
But the brand new trailer has shown how the new version will differ from the original, and what new ideas director Tim Burton has come up with to refresh the story.
GEM reports that whilst the original film focussed on Dumbo, his mouse friend Timothy and his flying abilities, the new movie will have more to do with his life at the circus and his human friends.
However, there’s one moment from the original which has been kept in and expanded upon – when Dumbo is separated from his mum and goes to find her, resulting in a heartbreaking elephant hug through the cage she’s locked in.
GEM adds that the moment made fans incredibly emotional, and many took to Twitter to share their feelings. One wrote, ‘I am in tears’ as another added, ‘What a beautiful trailer, the Baby Mine cover is heartbreaking and the animation on Dumbo is extraordinary. So much emotion and heart conveyed in the eyes.’
Another tweeted, ‘I think this is the first time I actually cried during a trailer. Him tripping over his ears then with his mom, I was literally bawling my eyes out’ and one other wrote, ‘This is just a trailer and I’m already in tears, that part when they separate Dumbo and his mom and when he trips, I’m gonna go now, I’m still crying as I’m writing this.’
