EC President starts visit in Malta

The relationship between Malta and the EU Commission has never been as good as it is now, outgoing Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Monday.

Speaking at Castille, Juncker said that there had been certain problems faced but they had been solved with the help of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s leadership.

Prime Minister Muscat, meanwhile, welcomed Juncker and his delegation to Malta, saying that even though Malta is the smallest EU member state it prides itself in being proactive and positive in facing issues and finding solutions for them.

On Tuesday, Juncker will be conferred with the Honorary Membership of the National Order of Merit in the Grade of Companion after a meeting with President George Vella.
