The editorial of The Malta Business Weekly focuses on the average wage. <<Average wage in Malta almost near average wage of migrants>> refers to Eurostat figures which showed that the average wage of a Maltese citizen and that of an average migrant is among the lowest in Europe. The editorial argues that the average wage of the Maltese is amongst the lowest in Europe and without sounding ‘xenophobic’ there need to be an increase in the average pay and with it an increase in the skills and offering.

The Orizzont’s editorial <<L-istabilita’ – sfida eċitanti>> refers to the European Commission’s report on the economy as published yesterday, arguing that the economy’s performance reflects the country’s stability. It also refers to the issues related to the population, the foreign workers and the overall impact on our economy of such situations.

The editorial of In-Nazzjon, <<L-UE fuq quddiem nett tal-ħarsien tad-drittijiet tagħna>> refers to the various instances where the EU has worked and been important in protecting the citizen’s rights. It adds that this is one of the obligations of the EU and this is crucial for its citizens’ well being.

The editorial of The Malta Independent <<No money to control illegalities>> refers to the lack of funding available for the Building Regulations Office, which is responsible for the regulation of the construction industry.

The Times editorial <<Value for money audits>> refers to the important role of the National Audit Office and how its audits are useful and valuable to make sure there’s good governance. It adds that the good governance in the public sector should apply at all levels.
