EPA’s Eye in the Sky: Sidon, Lebanon

A picture taken with a drone shows an aerial view of the Sea Castle in Sidon (Saida), south Lebanon.

The ancient Phoenician port city of Sidon, that is located on the Mediterranean coast of present-day Lebanon, is said to have been inhabited since 4000 B.C. Sidon’s Sea Castle was built as a fortress on a small island connected to the mainland by a narrow long roadway by the Crusaders during the 13th century.
