An aerial photo made with a drone shows people visiting Tower Rock, which is usually surrounded by water, in the Mississippi River near Brazeau Township, Missouri, USA.
Water levels in the river had dropped so low that visitors could walk to the site with dry feet. The Mississippi River, a main route of commercial barge traffic for grains, wheat, and coal, was a historically low causing major supply chain disruptions. Barge freight rates have increased dramatically from draft levels reductions in the Mississippi River system as farmers harvest crops and need the river to get them to markets around the world.
