Estonia goes to the polls

Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas of the Centre party and who leads a four-party coalition, Sunday will be facing stiff competition in a general election .

BBC reports that his ruling Centre party will be facing a strong challenge both from the liberal Reform party but also a populist challenge.

The last polls indicated a tight vote, with the Reform Party recently gaining on the Centre Party.

The Conservative People’s Party of Estonia (EKRE), which has called for a referendum on EU membership, looks set to come third.

Nearly a quarter of Estonia’s 881,000 eligible voters have already cast their ballots by e-voting.
