Manfred Weber, the center-right candidate to be the next European Commission president, urged Brussels on Wednesday to hit back hard if Donald Trump hikes tariffs on European cars.
“As Europeans, we will not be blackmailed,” Weber declared in a speech in his home state of Bavaria, which is also home to two major German carmakers, BMW and Audi.
