Eurovision cancelled in wake of coronavirus concerns

The popular Eurovision Song Context has been cancelled in the wake of recent developments related to the spread of the coronavirus.

Malta was due to be represented by 17-year-old singer Destiny, winner of Malta’s X Factor.

The European Broadcasting Union confirmed that the event, due to be held in Rotterdam  in The Netherlands, will be cancelled for the first time in 64 years to safeguard the health and safety of all those concerned.

It also confirmed that it will start discussions with the City of Rotterdam for the organisation of the event in 2021.
