Paolo Parmitano, an Italian engineer and astronaut in the European Astronaut Corps for the European Space Agency (ESA) sent a message to his fellow countrymen in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.
In a message he said “As us from space, viruses do not see city, regional, national or continental borders. On this ship, flyin in the universe, we are all interconnected. Interconnected problems require interconnected solutions.
“Come noi dallo spazio, i virus non vedono i confini cittadini, regionali, nazionali, continentali. Su questa nave in viaggio nell’universo, siamo tutti interconnessi. I problemi comuni richiedono soluzioni interconnesse. #facciamoloinsieme”.
Parmitano’s mission was concluded successfully in February.
