Fighting intensifies in southern Tripoli

The Libyan Army forces loyal to the Tripoli government have intensified their military operations against the positions of Khalifa Haftar’s forces in southern Tripoli.

The Libya Observer reported that on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Libyan Army Mohammed Gununu said the Libyan Air Force carried out three airstrikes on positions for Haftar’s forces in the vicinity of Tripoli International Airport.

The Libya Observer quoted Gununu as telling  reporters that the airstrikes also hit positions for Haftar’s forces in Qasir Benghashir in southern Tripoli, saying the Libyan Air Force will continue to raid the attacking forces’ locations at night with precision.

In the meantime, most fighting frontlines have seen intermittent clashes with surveillance and shy movements by Haftar’s forces on the ground.

Reports by local sources indicated as well that Presidential Council’s forces from Brigade 166 and Halbous Brigade had advanced on Al-Ramla frontline toward Qasir Benghashir bridge, staying in position in Yarmouk camp, Khalit Al-Furjan, Ain Zara and Wadi Rabea.
