From Australia to New York City, people gatheredto ring in the new year with fireworks and musical celebrations.
There were expectations on Sydney’s New Year celebrations went off with a bang as hundreds of fireworks were launched from the Harbour Bridge at midnight. It is a moment to enjoy for residents after the city was choked by thick smoke from wildfires. But some campaigned for the event to be cancelled out of respect for those whose homes were destroyed in surrounding towns in New South Wales.
