Meghan Markle has laid out her royal plans as she and Prince Harry prepare to carry out their first official engagement as husband and wife. On her own page on the official royal.uk website, Meghan Markle’s biography emphasises her charity work and downplays her acting career. According to the site the Duchess of Sussex will undertake royal duties in support of the Queen both in the UK and overseas.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are breaking with tradition by delaying a honeymoon and spent their first night Saturday as a married couple at Windsor Castle.

On Sunday, while the Queen attended church, there was no sign of the newlyweds, who are expected to return to their living quarters at Kensington Palace in central London.

Harry and Markle will fulfil their first royal engagement as a married couple Tuesday when they attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace to honour Prince Charles and his charity work. Charles will mark his 70th birthday in November.

The couple will not immediately leave for their honeymoon, but remain in the UK for a period of time before taking the traditional break. Countries such as Botswana – which offers stunning wildlife, breathtaking scenery and, importantly, privacy from prying eyes – could be top of the list.

But the couple may first spend a few days in Ireland, according to reports, making their inaugural overseas trip as a married couple to the Republic, while their honeymoon is put on hold for a period.

Botswana is a place the Duke loves and knows well, and he reportedly whisked his fiancee to the southern African country in 2017 to mark her 36th birthday.
