Further north in Emilia-Romagna, the Bologna-Rimini train line was closed between Cesena and Forlì as a precaution on Monday morning, after the Savio river broke its banks and water was nearly submerging train tracks on a bridge in the area.
In that region, red alerts are in effect for overflows of the Savio, Montone and Lamone rivers, and an orange alert is in effect for the Ronco.
