A woman lost her life during the night between Saturday and Sunday in Focene, in Fiumicino district of Rome, after her car was caught in a whirlwind so strong that it lifted her car.
The force of the wind also caused damage to near-by houses and a petrol station.
The freak storm also caused damages and flooding in central Rome.
Earlier another woman died after being hit by a lightning during the Suedtirol Ultra Skyrace close to the Lake of San Pankrazio, near Campolasta, in val Sarentino. She died a bit after the race was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.
