MV Life Line>> MV Lifeline rescue vessel captain Claus-Peter Reisch yesterday told the court defiantly that “it is never a crime to save lives.” Reisch was back in court yesterday facing charges of improper ship registration after he brought 233 rescued migrants to shore in Malta last week. >> The first group of 52 migrants brought to Malta on the MV Lifeline last week left Malta yesterday for France, one of the other eight countries who accepted to take them in, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said.  >> Hundreds of people turned up for the gathering ‘Ports of Hope’  “to remember those who have been lost out at sea and to acknowledge those who continue to make the journey in their hope of seeking asylum in Europe.” (The Independent) (Malta’s Newspapers).
