Germany-wide recall of contaminated milk

German authorities have issued a recall of fresh low-fat milk 1.5 percent fat in 1 litre packaging of various brands, after DMK Deutsche Milchkontor GmbH as well as Fude + Serrahn detected germs of the bacteria during routine inspections of individual articles.

This can lead to health impairments such as diarrhoea, according to reports.

Large German chains such as Edeka, Rewe, Lidl and Aldi are affected.

The following products with the mark DE NW 508 EC (which is usually found on the side of the milk carton) and the specified minimum use by dates (Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum or MHD in German) are affected. Products with different ID marks are not affected.
