Giuseppe Conte called for a meeting with Italian President

Italy’s president summoned Prime Minister-designate Giuseppe Conte to his office on Sunday in a move that could break a long-running political deadlock and open the way for the formation of a coalition government.

The meeting was expected to start at 7 p.m. local time a statement from President Sergio Mattarella’s office said.
