Governments of the USA, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom issue joint statement on Libya

The Governments of the United States of America, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom issued a joint statement on the recent developments in Libya particularly to de-escalate tensions in Libya and help the Libyan people chart a path toward credible and secure elections.

Significant amongst these developments the statements note was the agreement between the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj and the commander of the self-styled army in eastern region Khalifa Haftar  on the need to end the transitional stage in Libya by holding elections and uniting the state institutions.
