Greece expected to be hit by new heatwave

Temperatures in Greece are expected to rise gradually over the weekend with meteorologists expecting a new heatwave by the weekend which could possibly last through August 15th.

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service issued an emergency announcement that temperatures may rise as high as 40 degrees Celsius, beginning on Thursday.

The new heatwave will start cranking up the temperatures in western, central and northern Greece, when the thermometer will hit up to 38 degrees Celsius. The most difficult day of the heatwave will be Friday, when temperatures will climb as high as 40 degrees Celsius in western central Greece, Thessaly and central Macedonia.
