GRTU says outcome of meeting with Government positive

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The GRTU said this evening that it had a “positive” meeting with Energy Minister Joe Mizzi today and will be addressing petrol station owners about the outcome on Monday.

The GRTU had ordered that petrol pumps are switched off every evening at 6pm as from last Tuesday, but lifted the directive Friday as a sign of goodwill.

In a statement, the GRTU said that there will be no effect on consumers.

Fuel stations went on strike after talks between the government and the GRTU, on the possibility of the government funding the renovation of fuel stations, broke down.
