Haftar calls for Jihad against Turkey’s involvement in Libya

Khalifa Haftar declared on Friday military mobilization and “Jihad” against Turkey’s plan to send troops to Libya to support the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA).

Libyan Express reports that Khalifa Haftar declared the mobilisation in a televised speech, saying the ongoing fighting will intensify, and the battle “is no longer for the liberation of the capital.”

He added that all Arab countries should help his forces to uproot the Turkish intervention and what he described as the adventures of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Libya.

Libya Observer reports Haftar having touch upon some Arab nationalistic slogans and called on Arabs to help his forces to fight Turkey, which he said was trying to revive the Ottoman Empire and saw Libya as an inheritance.

He also called on the Turkish people to revolt against President Erdogan whom he called “adventurer and idiot pushing his army to certain death and trying to spark sedition among Muslims for his own desires”.
