Hurricane Dorian makes landfall along North Carolina coast

Hurricane Dorian made landfall along Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, Friday morning as a Category 1 storm bringing 90 mph winds.

waterfront communities are bracing for flash flooding and dangerous storm surge.

Nearly 340,000 homes and businesses were without power across the Carolinas early Friday as a result of the storm. More than 1 million people have been warned to leave the Carolinas.

The hurricane has already been blamed for at least four deaths along the coast of the Carolinas. Dorian has killed at least 30 in the northern Bahamas, and that toll is likely to rise as hundreds of people are still missing.
