“I dream of a League of European Leagues” – Matteo Salvini

“I am here for a pact of honor and a pact of love”. Matteo Salvini said this when he was addressing the traditional Pontida rally for the Lega Nord members for the first time since appointed Minister for Interior.  Salvini invited those present to avoid hatred. “Life is too short,” he continued, “let the others be the ones to hate and gnaw, we only have time to build”.

“I dream of a League of European Leagues, we unite to win” – “I think of a League of Leagues that brings together all free movements, sovereigns”. Thus Salvini explained his international political project. “This is the peaceful and smiling future we are working on”, he added.

“Ideas of the League only hope for survival of Europe”– “The peoples of Europe have never been in conflict like today, the last hope of the EU to remain alive and that the ideas and the courage of the League will affect other countries”, he continued. “To bring down the Berlin wall once seemed unthinkable, the next wall we will drop is the one in Brussels, but I do not say ‘to blow’, otherwise they say I am bad”.

Migrants, “jackals who accuse us of the deaths at sea” – Salvini then thanked the Coast Guard of Libya “that in the silence of the media has helped more than a thousand desperate who were risking to drown and have brought them back to Libya”. The Minister of the Interior has therefore defined “jackals” those who attribute the recent deaths in the Mediterranean to the Italian government’s line on immigration.

“We will cancel penalty discounts to murderers and rapists” – Speaking of justice, he said: “I undertake to cancel the penalty discounts for murderers and rapists, there must be no mercy, re-educating someone who has raped a child or a child is far away from my way of life “.

“Warning to the mafia: the pacchus is over” – “He also had words of warning for the mafia and the Camorristi comes the warning: the pacchus is over, away from Sicily and Lombardy”, said Salvini to Pontida talking about his support for the antimafia, different from that of those who make millions with “the anti-mafia of words”. The examples of anti-mafia to be cited are among others Giovanni Falcone, Paolo Borsellino and Rocco Chinnici.

Referring to gay rights, Salvini said “We’re not here to take away anyone’s rights.” Everyone at home does what he wants but I defend children who have the right to have a mother and a dad and women who are not rented uteri “: is another passage of the vice-premier’s intervention. “The only thought of the womb for rent disgusts me,” he added.
