Ing. Philip Micallef nominated on Advisory Council of renowned Hamburg Aviation Conference about future of aviation

Ing Philip Micallef has been nominated on the Hamburg Aviation Conference Advisory Council The Hamburg Aviation Conference was originally created by Hamburg Airport in 1998 and was key in achieving repositioning and globalization of the event in 2014.

The conference is held annually in the city of Hamburg and brings together leaders and visionaries from airports, airlines, universities, technology, consulting and start-up companies to make this event a really “think future one”.

An advisory board of this conference was also set up and acts as a think tank to lead to the definition of the overall theme, the subjects to be presented, the keynote speaker and all the speakers, the round table discussion themes and participants.

Ing. Philip Micallef has over thirty years experience in middle and senior management roles in both the public and private sectors in Malta, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain and Bermuda in a number of fields including telecoms, ICT and aviation.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering B.Sc(Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering specialising in telecommunications from the University of Malta. Also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Between 1999 and 2002 served as non executive Director on the Board of Directors of Maltacom, the largest telecommunications company in Malta at the time.

He was appointed from 2006 to 2009 member of the Council of the University of Malta, a body equivalent to a board of directors.
