Israel’s defence system shot down rockets from Syria

Israel’s military said its missile defence system shot down four rockets fired from Syria towards Israel early on Tuesday.

In a statement, the IDF said it had “identified four launches from Syrian territory toward Israeli territory that were shot down by soldiers operating the Iron Dome missile defense system.”

Minutes earlier, sirens warning of incoming rocket fire sounded in the area of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Around the same time, Syrian official news agency SANA reported explosions at Damascus airport.
