Italian football mourns the death of Luigi Simoni

Gigi Simoni,  passed away today at the age of 81, following an illness that had struck him on June 22, 2019 and forced him to intensive care, as reported by Gazzetta.it.

The former coach was 81 years old and had been sick since June 2019, when he was stricken with an illness.

Simoni had been a footballer and had worn several shirts: Mantua, Naples, Turin, Juventus, Brescia and Genoa.

But above all he is remembered for his coaching career. He led many teams: Genoa, Brescia, Pisa, Lazio, Empoli, Cosenza, Carrarese, Cremonese, Naples, Inter, Piacenza, Turin, CSKA Sofia, Ancona, Siena, Lucchese and Gubbio.
