Italy – Contract for the Government of Change approved by 94% of 5 Star Movement members

Governo: Di Maio lascia Montecitorio

More than 94% of the members of the 5 Star Movement have said yes to the Contract for the Government of Change! There was a great participation throughout the day.

As certified by the Notary who ensured the regularity of the vote took part in the vote on 44,796 people took part in the online voting approval.

42,274 voted yes and 2,522 No. In a blogpost Luigi Di Maio announced that “the 5 Star Movement approves the Contract for the Government of Change “.

However, the negotiation with Matteo Salvini continues to run aground on the premier’s name. Three days after the announced ascent to the Colle, there is still no definitive decision in this sense, so much so that Di Maio himself is forced to hypothesise a possible step back on the premiership. A concession to the fellow League that could lead to a new meeting between the two, perhaps conclusive, on Sunday.

Di Maio does not want to minimise the importance of the role of the Prime Minister but, for him, the real leader brought to the government “is the program” that during the weekend activists and M5S spokesperson will explain in the Italian squares.

The Federal Council of La Lega, also gave a full mandate to Salvini for change government. During a Council meeting,  the council gave a “full and unanimous mandate” to Matteo Salvini “to start with the government of change Lega-5stelle, to implement the program on which Italians will express themselves tomorrow and Sunday in over a thousand squares to North to South “.

“Everyone’ is satisfied – reads a statement – because the Government contract accepts the policy of the ‘Prima gli italiani’ (Italians First) and 90% of the requests of the League, from security to tax cuts, from regional autonomy to pension reform, from free nurseries for Italian families to self-defence, from the fight against precariousness to new immigration policies, from the defence of Made in Italy in Europe to the closure of Roma camps.
