League files bill for Italy to leave WHO

Lawmakers for Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini’s right-wing League party said Thursday that they have presented a bill in the Senate for Italy to leave the World Health Organization after United States President Donald Trump announced the US was pulling out.
The lawmakers, Senator Claudio Borghi and Lower House MP Alberto Bagnai, said they were hopeful the League’s government allies would support the bill and wanted to see a “domino effect” after Trump’s announcement.
