Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc put himself back in the hunt for pole at Singapore, the Monegasque topping the final practice session before this evening’s qualifying.

Leclerc came out of the blue to lead Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton by 0.207s, while Scuderia teammate Sebastian Vettel looked equally fast and smooth in third position.

Valtteri Bottas concluded the final rehearsal fourth while Red Bull endured a rather disappointing session, with Alex Albon outpacing Max Verstappen, the pair finishing FP3 over a second adrift from Leclerc.

In his reaction to the Pole Position, Leclerc said “I am extremely happy about today. It was a very good lap but there were some moments where I thought i lost the car. I would like to thank the team so much for what they have done. The team have done an amazing job to bring the package we needed. We brought some new bits that worked properly that was good to see. It’s not always the case. We had a very tough Friday. I didn’t feel comfortable in the car. But we worked quite hard and today paid off. “
