Letter-bomb destined for Italian Ministry of Interior defused

A letter-bomb destined for the Italian Ministry of Interior was intercepted in the mail sorting office in Via Ostiense, Rome, and defused by the police bomb squad.

It seems the letter-bomb was originally found in October but was revealed now according to Italian news agency ANSA  by  the site of ‘Leggo’.

According to the investigators, the package was ready to explode. Inside the package, the police found inside a primer with batteries connected to a container with gunpowder. Investigations are underway with the main suspicions being Italian anarchist movements.
