Libya Observer: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Illegal Immigration Affairs Mohammed al-Shibani confirmed that the ministry is to develop a plan to combat illegal immigration in Libya.
Shibani explained that the plan attaches great importance to the Libyan cooperation with the EU countries, especially Italy, pointing out that they will go ahead with all the programs previously established including the agreements concluded with the countries concerned with the migration file.
He said they had agreed with the Italian government to continue the joint work between the Libyan and Italian security authorities in terms of providing technical support for the Libyan Coast Guard, noting that they have requested the Italian side to complete the maintenance work of marine parts belonging to the Coastal Security Department of the Libyan Ministry of Interior.
