Libyan Interior Minister urges Haftar to surrender after vote in Turkish Parliament

The Libyan Express reported that Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, after the endorsement of the Turkish Parliament on sending troops to Libya, said that now Khalifa Haftar has only two options in front of him: to surrender or to commit suicide.

Bashagha’s remarks, the Libyan Express reported were posted on the Interior Ministry’s Facebook page.

Commenting on the agreement for military cooperation with Turkey, Bashagha said the GNA signed this agreement to protect the civilians against the aggression led by Haftar’s forces and foreign countries.

He indicated that the military support by Turkey came via legal procedures and in public not like the foreign intervention enlisted by Haftar who brought multinational mercenaries to kill Libyans.

On Thursday, Turkey’s parliament passed a bill that allows Turkish troop deployment to Libya.
