Libya’s Interior Ministry Issues Warning on Importing Predatory Animals

The Libyan Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity has issued a stern warning against importing predatory animals into Libya, cautioning that violators will face legal consequences.

The Ministry justified the ban by citing the significant threat these animals pose to public safety and the unnatural conditions of raising them, as outlined in their statement.

This warning follows several recent incidents where predatory animals have escaped from their owners in various Libyan cities. The most notable cases include the escape of a tiger in Masalata and a tragic incident in Ajdabiya, where a tiger attacked and killed a child named Mundher Al-Saiti.
