U.N.-backed Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday.
Sarraj’s administration is unhappy about Paris’s perceived support for eastern commander Khalifa Haftar who is currently attacking Libyan capital Tripoli.
French sources quoted by Reuters said Paris, Rome, Berlin and London had coordinated this week on organizing Sarraj’s visits across Europe as part of efforts to speak with one voice in finding a solution to the crisis, including a ceasefire.
On Tuesday, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on held talks in Rome with Sarraj. Conte insisted that the military option does not lead to any stable solution and expressed hope to soon meet eastern Libyan strongman General Khalifa Haftar.
