Transport for London (TfL) said that the temporary closure of London’s North Greenwich underground station was due to overcrowding. Passengers at the station were told to leave due to an unspecified emergency.
Transport for London announced that the Jubilee Line was closed between Finchley Road and Waterloo just after 6.30am yesterday. The route was reopened shortly after, but severe delays remained on the rest of the busy commuter line for much of the day. TfL advised customers to “use alternative routes where possible”.
The breakdown of a train at Canary Wharf station has led to the suspension of London’s Jubilee Line, which links the Canary Wharf financial district with central London.
The TfL said Canary Wharf and Waterloo underground stations also have restricted access due to overcrowding.
